Put your hands together for our August Member of the Month, Kris Morrison! Kris hails from Aberdeen, Scotland, and is the Global Vice President of Customer Success at Interact Software. Interact Software is intranet software built for communicators. It connects enterprise by transforming how business communicates; engaging employees and creating a more productive workplace. They do this by providing their customers with feature-rich intranet software that learns how they work; unlocking their collective knowledge by connecting the people, tools and information across your digital workplace. To learn more about Kris, his love for meat pies and kicking things, check out our interview with him below.
What do you do? Tell us a little bit about your company.
I’m the Global Vice President of Customer Success at Interact Software. Interact is a leading Intranet company headquartered out of Manchester in the north of England. We work with leading brands around the world, including Domino’s, Sony, Equinox, Zillow, AT&T, Mattress Firm, AMC Networks and many more to engage with their employees and create a more productive workplace. You can find out more information at interactsoftware.com.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
TaeKwon-Do – this year will be my 25th year as a TaeKwon-Do Student/Instructor. If you’re ever looking for Self Defense lessons or classes, hit me up!
How did you end up in your current role?
Great question. I arrived in my current role in a very round-about way – I studied Internet Information Systems (Computer Science) in Scotland, ran a bar on a Greek Island, studied Greek in a university in the north of Greece, followed a girl to New York (now my wife!) and moved into Project Management, went back to London to open a company office and then moved to the beaches of Southern California. Then the bright lights of Tulsa came calling and I was hooked (I love our city!) – I moved into more of a Sales/Customer Success role here (with a little TV advertising included)!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an airforce pilot (yes, Tom Cruise was/is my hero) – can’t wait for TopGun 2.
What do you do to get rid of stress?
Kick things (see TaeKwon-Do).
If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
So I’m originally from Scotland and I know this is going to freak out all of the Americans reading this but… meat pies! There’s this great little bakery in Aberdeen, Scotland named ‘Thains’ and they do the best chicken pies on the planet.
What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
Flares (Flare Pants). I mean, I don’t know if I need to elaborate further on this one but I feel everyone should have some Flares!
What is one of your favorite things about being a member of the root coworking?
It may be cliché but the collaboration that you find at the root coworking is unparalleled. I have conversations regularly with folks that trigger ideas that I just wouldn’t get working remotely. There’s a sense of community but not an over-familiarness, which is a perfect blend for me!

She’s gifted me all her books, and I’m working my way through them now, but I love them already (lucky me, right?)! Have you ever met someone who lives each and every day grateful, full of compassion and appreciation, AND makes sure those around them know how valued they are? Well, that’s Moheindu for you! I’m proud to call her a member of our community, and more important, a friend. I know you’re ready to get to know her better now, so buckle in, read on, and grab the tissues!
