If you would’ve asked me a year ago what this season would look like, I probably would’ve said something like: busy, exciting, mildly chaotic… and a ton of fun. Turns out, that was an understatement.
2025 at The Root was one of those chapters you don’t fully appreciate until you finally pause long enough to look around and think, did we just do that? I had that visceral moment recently, after giving our team a very long presentation on everything we did in 2025. The theme this year for us was “growth”, and I think we achieved just that…
A Few Milestones in 2025
We launched 2 new locations, and expanded outside of Oklahoma for the first time, with the addition of Fayetteville and Omaha.
We brought on 8 new “Rooties”.
We served 576 NEW members.
We had 4,617 meeting room bookings, totaling 13,779 hours of inspiring meetings (and counting).
And we achieved many more amazing numbers that I won’t bore you with.
So what's next?
The bottom line is that despite the growth, and albeit some minor growing pains, we managed to keep the heart of The Root very much intact. And that heart is what I’m most proud of. It’s easy to lose your identity, and forget your “why” when you begin to scale. But we built The Root to be different, and we believe it’s the little things that matter the most. Holding onto that foundation has guided every decision we’ve made, and it’s guiding how we approach what comes next.
So, are we going to start slowing things down in 2026? Short answer… No. If the past year was about expansion, Chapter 2 is about intention. It’s about refining what we’ve built over the past six years, not just adding more. Doubling down on our commitment to hospitality. And continuing to create spaces that feel rooted in their cities, not just dropped into them.
Chapter 2 isn’t about becoming bigger for the sake of it. It’s about becoming better… better locations, better offerings, better partners, better hosts, better stewards of the communities we’re part of. That includes making a few thoughtful changes so things feel more like us.
So, as we close out yet another amazing year I just want to thank each and every one of you who have supported us along the way. Our staff, our members, our partners, and even those of you who just so happen to walk into one of our locations and say “uhh, what is this place?” or “what the hell is coworking?” (yes, we still get a lot of that). We truly couldn’t do what we do without you.
