Meet Shawn Sicking, our Member of the Month! Shawn is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Saltus Technologies, where he leads the marketing, sales, and customer success teams. When we asked him about his favorite part of being a member at The Root, he shared that it’s having a front office staffed with terrific people.
He loves being part of our community, and we feel the same about having him. Shawn brings a joyful energy to East Village. You’ll often find him and his team at member events, stopping by the Hospitality Bar to chat, or just around the office, making it feel welcoming for everyone. We’re so lucky to have him!
What is your favorite part about being a member of The Root Coworking?
My favorite part of being a member of The Root Coworking is having a front office staffed with terrific people.
What is your work story?
I am sales and marketing professional with extensive experience working in software technology. I have an undergraduate business degree from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Regis University. I’ve led teams developing domestic and international business for statistical analysis, database marketing, and data capture applications. My work spans startups and large-scale projects in oil & gas, retail, and public safety markets. I currently lead Saltus Technologies’ marketing, sales, and customer success teams. Outside of the office, I enjoy time with my family, snow skiing, golfing, and serving with community programs.
What’s a guilty pleasure snack or treat you can’t resist?
Coney Island hot dogs and Fritos.
What’s the most surprising thing on your desk right now?
A glass eye from what was a very large stuffed marlin.
What’s the best event or activity you’ve attended at The Root?
An ice cream social!
What’s a local Tulsa gem (hidden or not-so-hidden) you think everyone should know about?
El Rio Verde restaurant (try the ceviche).
What’s your favorite productivity hack or routine?
Right now, my favorite productivity hack is using AI to do tasks in Excel (pivot tables, de-dups, comparisons, etc.).
