Member of the Month: Wayne Farmer, Interact Software
Oggy oggy oggy! Oi oi oi! Let’s give a proper football welcome to our newest member of the month, Wayne Farmer! Wayne is the Manager of Customer Success for Interact Software. Before joining Interact Software, Wayne was both the General Manager and Director for Tulsa’s professional soccer club, FC Tulsa.
With over 1,500 intranet launches and more than 15 years of helping companies to communicate, Interact Software knows what makes an intranet successful. Interact offers a complete suite of professional services, designed to support your company at every stage of the intranet journey to engage your employees and create a more productive workplace.
What do you do? Tell us a little bit about your company.
Interact Software is the global software leader in employee engagement and productivity and provides internal communications solutions throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australasia. I manage the success team for the Americas continent. The company has a great culture and I really enjoy working with my team in making our customers successful; those customers include FIFA, The NBA, Zillow, Sony, and Domino’s.
What is the best part of your job?
There are many ways in which I could answer this question, but the top two are:
Our company plays a big part in creating company culture and connecting employees. My team and I get to speak with leaders in Communications, People, Marketing & IT and support them in their success journey.
Our team. The culture in the success team across the Americas and Europe is great! We push each other, challenge each other, and have a good laugh while doing it.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
I could speak in length about the English football pyramid and probably go toe-to-toe with anyone in Tulsa on random facts about football grounds, their history, and players. Not many people would show up to that presentation haha!
What was the most important chance encounter you’ve had?
Looking back, the journey and conversations that brought me to Tulsa over a decade ago have been some of the best meetings and decisions of my life. I have had a great journey both educationally and professionally in Tulsa and I am proud to call it my home. It’s where I met my wife and where we welcomed our newborn, Liam (4 months).
What is your favorite restaurant in Tulsa and what do you get there?
My wife and I are foodies, so I have too many to just choose one. Brunch: Tulsans need to visit New York Bagel on Brookside. Lunch; Sandos Deli (lots of vegan options) is our latest go-to downtown. Dinner: we really enjoy Prossimo Ristorante (Italian) & In The Raw Vu (Sushi).
If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Vegetables! Fun fact, my wife and I are vegetarian (not very strict vegans).
What’s a pet peeve that you would make illegal if you could?
So illegal may be a little too far, but time management and punctuality gets at me. From my time in the professional sports realm, being late usually resulted in a punishment of running laps, extra conditioning or a fine.
What is one of your favorite things about being a member of The Root Coworking?
The space is modern, in a great location, and has great coffee but most importantly – it has great staff. Ben, Jess, and Nichole have made The Root Coworking a great environment to work in and a very welcoming community. Both downtown spaces are great, and I can’t wait to see what they do with the Route 66 location by Mother Road Market.

When you walk into member of the month Craig Sutter’s private office inside a private office, you’ll see them immediately: the most fun dog portraits! Makes perfect sense, as he’s an animal lover that works for a dog-ter company. As CTO for Vetsource, Craig handles all things tech and built the entire department from the ground up. Craig has been with Vetsource since, literally, day one and you can see how that loyalty has paid off for him and his company.
Today, August 9th marks the birth of our beloved industry. As we celebrate International Coworking Day today, lets take a look back at the history of coworking, and how the industry has evolved to where we are today.
