We’re beyond excited to announce that The Root Coworking is expanding to the great state of Nebraska with our brand-new location: The Root – Builders! Nestled in the heart of North Downtown Omaha’s Builders District, our second new market expansion of 2025 is set to open in just a few short months at 1501 Mike Fahey Street.
We’ve had our eyes on Omaha for a while now, and let’s be honest—it was meant to be. A city that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and a strong sense of community? Sounds like exactly the kind of place we want to be.
A New Kind of Workspace in Omaha
1501 Mike Fahey is at the center of it all—a new four-story mixed-use building, spanning 130,000 square feet of jaw dropping office, restaurant, and retail space, completed in 2024. The development is considered to be Omaha’s first commercial structure made substantially of a contemporary mass timber product, adding to its already unique and stellar design.
It’s all about location, location, location—and this one is hard to beat. 1501 Mike Fahey is only one of the added pieces to the puzzle that makes up the new “Builders District” development, a 10-block urban redevelopment project in North Downtown Omaha. Our newest location is only a short two block walk from both Creighton University and Charles Schwab Field (the home of the College World Series!).
Needless to say, the Builders District will be the place to be in Omaha.
We’ve partnered with Noddle Companies, an Omaha-based real estate development firm, to launch “The Root – Builders”, which will consist of 25,000 square feet spread across the first and second floors of the building.
Inside Builders
The Root – Builders will be setting up shop on the first two floors of the 1501 Mike Fahey building spanning over 25,000 square feet of private offices, team suites, meeting rooms and event space, and obviously—a plethora of open and collaborative coworking areas. Of course, we couldn’t do what we do without offering some pretty sweet amenities, and this location might be the cream of the crop. In addition to all of the normal perks our members receive, like bottomless drip coffee, tea, and snacks, Builders will also feature a packed weekly event calendar for members, an espresso bar, podcast studio, a wellness room for working moms, and a 50+ person private event room.
Get to know the new kids on the block
Since Builders is The Root’s first Nebraska location, we thought you might want to get to know us a bit better. We launched our first location in the vibrant East Village neighborhood of Downtown Tulsa back in 2019 (three months before a global pandemic that you might remember?). We were able to survive, and ultimately thrive in this new world that we now live in post-pandemic, where modern professionals and businesses desire flexibility, community, and a workspace that is built to provide both of these things and much more. We have built our brand on providing beautiful, bespoke, and community-driven workspaces for the modern professional, coupled with our team’s approach to delivering unreasonable hospitality, leading to a magical experience for all of our members. The Root now operates three locations in Oklahoma and Arkansas, with our sights set on way more to come.
