Member of the Month: Kaylynn Cuningkin, Engineering Technician at Westwood Professional Services

Meet Kaylynn Cuningkin, our Member of the Month! She’s an Engineering Technician at Westwood Professional Services, where she helps design land development projects that shape the communities around us.

At The Root, she continues to do just that. You’ll often find her at our East Village events, helping shape this community through her kindness, curiosity, and genuine warmth. She loves being part of a space where people from all backgrounds come together to connect, share ideas, and grow. We’re so glad to have her and her incredible team with us at The Root.

 

What’s your work story? Share a little about your role or business.

As an Engineering Technician in Land Development at Westwood, I play a key role in designing a variety of engineering projects. My work aligns with Westwood’s mission: “Solutions for your success.” We aim to be a nationally renowned leader, trusted by clients and respected by competitors. Our team values are focusing on relationships, innovation, dedication, initiative, and growth guides us in creating a better world through our work.

If you could have lunch with any fictional character, who would it be and why?

I would be thrilled to have lunch with Jessica Pearson from Suits. Her elegance and composure in the face of adversity are truly inspiring. I’d love to delve into her experiences and learn about the dedication and resilience that propelled her to such heights in her career.

If you could switch professions for a day, what would you choose?

Choosing between careers is no easy task, but spending a day as a Neuroscientist or exploring the realm of Private Equity would be fascinating. Both fields intrigue me with their complexity and the impact they have on people’s lives.

What’s the best event or activity you’ve attended at The Root?

The “Paint & Tote” event was an absolute highlight for me. It was a refreshing escape from the everyday hustle, allowing me to unwind and express myself creatively in a peaceful and supportive environment.

What’s a guilty pleasure snack or treat you can’t resist?

I have an undeniable weakness for anything s’mores related. Whether it’s pies, cookies, or the classic campfire treat, s’mores never fail to bring a smile to my face and a sense of nostalgia. They are a delightful treat that I simply can’t resist.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of The Root Coworking?

My favorite aspect of being a member of The Root Coworking is the vibrant community. I truly enjoy the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and industries, all gathered in one space. This environment fosters collaboration, innovation, and networking, allowing me to gain fresh perspectives and insights that enrich both my professional and personal growth.

What’s a local Tulsa gem (hidden or not-so-hidden) you think everyone should know about?

“Casey’s” is a hidden gem in Tulsa that everyone should experience. Their burgers are nothing short of spectacular and discovering them has been a delightful culinary adventure. It’s a spot that embodies the warmth and charm of our local community.

What’s a book, podcast, or show that has inspired you recently?

The podcast “Aspire with Emma Grede” has been a wellspring of inspiration. Listening to industry leaders share their journeys and the challenges they’ve overcome offers invaluable insights and motivates me to strive for excellence in my own path.
