TULSA – THE ROOT COWORKING, a flexible workspace operator with a commitment to workplace hospitality and community involvement, announced today, Community Manager, Jessica Thomas has won the 2024 Global Workspace Association’s Community Manager of the Year Award. Competing against applicants from across the United States — from global firms to small, independent coworking spaces — Jessica has had a huge impact on the Tulsa community, demonstrating exemplary hospitality, and dedication to serving members at The Root Coworking.
The Global Workspace Association is on the leading edge of workspace best practices and trends. The organization launched its Annual Community Manager Awards to recognize and honor those individuals who embody exceptional hospitality and consistently go above and beyond to make a significant impact in their communities.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, Jessica went on to work for a local Tulsa-based advertising agency, where she worked alongside Ben Von Drehle’s wife, Hayden, eventually leading to her interest in joining The Root. Aside from her day job cultivating the member community at The Root, Jessica is very involved in local non-profit initiatives, serving on the board of directors for Together Just, which aims to end the stigma attached to mental illness by providing treatment, education, and advocacy for all members of their community.
As the Community Manager for The Root Coworking’s Market Station location in Tulsa, Jessica is responsible for leading the day to day operations at the location, serving members and promoting the company’s vision by working to develop workspaces with a healthy work/life balance that enrich, excite and inspire, while also being a committed community partner.
